MEET THE COACH
Coach Jamaal Lawson started off in the sport of boxing at the age of 6 under the mentorship of his father Coach John “Lawman “Lawson. He continued in the sport of boxing as an amateur boxer and eventually became a professional fighter under the direction of his father. Coach Jamaal Lawson ended his career undefeated as a pro after sustaining a serious injury during training camp. He continued to contribute to the sport of boxing through teaching others the sweet science of boxing to become fighters or to just stay in shape. Coach Jamaal Lawson has created numerous champions over the years and is continuing to build more.
HISTORY OF THE LBT
Lewisville Boxing Team was founded in 1989 by Coach John "Lawman"Lawson who passed away in October of 2019 at the age of 84 years old. Coach John "Lawman" Lawson created the LBT through a want to create a gym of his own with a passion for not only the sport but a vision of a gym that would transcend generations. The LBT has continued to grow since its inception producing numerous amateur champions and high level professional boxers including Coach Jamaal Lawson. Coach Jamaal Lawson took the reigns 10 years ago after mentoring under Coach John Lawson for years.The LBT is a staple in Lewisville, TX and the premier boxing gym in North Texas.
